video: Dead Man Blues

Dead Man Blues was written by the great New Orleans pianist and composer, Jelly Roll Morton. In the first trombone poetry performance, at the legendary Klinker in 2000, all of the musical pieces were arrangements of classic Morton numbers. This video is from a gig at Freedom of Expression in Gipsy Hill, South London, in 2007. A biography of Jelly Roll Morton, Mister Jelly Roll, inspired a poem on speech: New Orleans Nocturne.
