The flow of events being more bewildering than usual, there are two recitals to mention here, only one of which was in November.
Mirrors of Hall dazzled the punters at The Others on its debut gig, with its interweavings of free improvisation and metre-shifting arrangements, and a couple of poems were added to shift the mood.
There was also a hoot and run trombone poetry appearance at Scaledown, just before a bout of Latin brilliance from Roberto Pla’s band at Floridita. This particular manoeuvre, last carried out back in June, leaves us, again, with no idea of the shenanigans that followed in The King & Queen. Scaledown is always worth a visit: the less fleeting, the better.
