Trombonicle 31 / review

Offering trombone poetry to last month’s Linear Obsessional Festival was a joy, and seems to have been appreciated by a reviewer, Neil March, in Edition 27 of his blog, Trust The Doc. New poems aired at the Arts Cafe included The Works, about the dubious place of the poet in the culture industry, and Anglia, recounting a train ride out East. The set also featured a rare performance of Harmon Air-Shift.

The other highlight of the month was the long-awaited launch of a wonderful EP by The Yiddish Twist Orchestra at the Pizza Express venue in Holborn. This was followed up, the day after, by a sold-out show in Châlons en Champagne in France. No reviews yet.

June’s menu seems to be dominated by early Duke Ellington, always a Good Thing, but there will be a splash of trombone poetry.
