Last month’s lunchtime gig with the Steve Taylor Big Band Explosion was followed by a stroll down the same street into another world.
In Soho’s famous French House, a gathering of the London Institute of ’Pataphysics celebrated The Feast of the Invention of ‘Pataphysics, where The Secretary of Manifestations, Magnus Irvin and others unveiled various machines while participants’ texts where shredded into spiral artworks.
Someone brought a peculiar machine called a trombone and played a little fanfare inspired by Jarry’s Tatane, called Tatanya in honour of Her Magnificence Tanya Peixoto, Vice-Curator.
The Book Party for Otherhithe at Deli Felice went very well, with a couple of tunes to warm up proceedings and some attempt made to try and explain why anyone would make such a book.
Look out for signs of membership of a very select cult.
