Huge amounts of backroom toil have been going on, mostly in aid of what has become a new kind of partner, Roland Perrin’s Blue Planet Orchestra. This is all about design and co-ordination: straighten up and fly right, that sort of thing.
This, in turn, is administering a boot to the fundament for Trombone Poetry.
About time too.
We’ll see what difference that makes over the next few months.
Meanwhile, a new book has emerged: a happy collaboration with his eminence, John Robinson.
No book parties have been organized yet, but there will be at least one event in Hull in November, when a Northern variant of Click Beetle will play again for Hull Jazz. The odd London book party will be crafted next month.

Good news for A Bigger Mouth: following a thumbs-up from UK Jazz News, the vinyl album, Band Stand was reviewed in Mojo, with some disturbing reference to unpredictable shorts, whatever they are.
