Trombone Poetry was glad to join the merriment at Scaledown’s 20th Birthday gig at The King & Queen. Iris Garrelfs stole the show with a gobsmacking vocal spectacular. Must contrive to share a gig again, somehow.
On a rainy summer Saturday, Trombone Poetry ventured to Irthlingborough for the secretive Freestone Fest. In line with the festival’s publicity effort, we offer this souvenir photograph of one of the performers.
A long-standing proposal became an actual gig when MC and vibes-man, Dave Hammer brought Trombone Poetry alongside his Little BigHorn band for JazzTrain at Rolling Stock in Shoreditch. There are rumours of another combined event in the autumn, possibly involving Halloween and the music of Frank Zappa. Costumes not yet specified.
This month’s events include, very unusually, a short talk for some people called creatives. This will involve a baffling diagram, a couple of concrete poems and a selection of annoying new words.
