Trombonicle 74 / Camberwelling

Plenty of mileage, and some smileage, last month, beginning with a performance at Shoreham Wordfest in Charlotte Glasson’s Trio, which included some readings from Kneptune and Marinets. There was also some kind of Sir John Gielgud does The Beatles thing beforehand, as it was Notional Poetry Day.

A Bigger MOUTH made a great noise in a small place at Dash The Henge in Camberwell. This shop, near the Green, stocks vinyl records and some books, so the new album Band Stand can be found there, along with the four Redriff Press paperbacks. Next-door-but-one is their little bar, where you can sit with a nice glass of Rioja reading the book you just bought.

A Bigger MOUTH is back in action in Hoxton on the 13th.

Trombone Poetry was invited by the Rev. Max Ripple to hoot & tell at a sort of Deaf School cabaret called The Incompleteness Theorem at The Brookmill. This was also a reunion with saxophonist Ian Ritchie: beers and reminiscences of our days in a Nigerian band many years ago.

Much less schlepping around this month: no seaside gigs.

Work continues on a peculiar new book.
